Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Lagos

Job Summary:

The Financial Controller will oversee the preparation, consolidation, and reporting of financial statements across the group. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting while driving strong internal controls, financial analysis, and operational efficiency across all subsidiaries.


Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and consolidate monthly financial statements, including Income Statement (IS), Balance Sheet (BS), Cashflow, Receivables Aging, Inventory Aging, Payables Aging, Fixed Asset depreciation schedules, Amortization schedules, WIP Assets, and Intercompany reconciliations.

Review inventories and receivables and prepare monthly inventory provisions and bad debt provisions for subsidiaries.

Coordinate with external auditors and finance managers for annual audits and issuance of audited financials.

Ensure compliance with all state and federal tax requirements; monitor monthly VAT & WHT submissions, follow up on certificates, and resolve related issues.

Coordinate with subsidiaries on budget preparation and revisions, providing monthly comparisons between actuals and budgets as part of the closing package.

Periodically review costing of inventory and production formulas where applicable.

Assist Group Finance Manager and CFO on any new reporting requirements or financial initiatives.


Qualifications & Requirements:

ICAN Chartered Accountant (ACA), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) – at least one is mandatory.

Minimum 7–10 years of relevant financial management experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of SAP and proficiency in Excel for reporting and financial analysis.

Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to manage audits, tax compliance, budgeting, and consolidated reporting.
